Subject: FYI: Target's car seat recycling program is back - Sept 10-23
The car seat recycling program is back. Terracycle and Target have teamed up to not only bring back, but expand the program. Target stores nationwide will be accepting used baby and child car seats to be recycled by Terracycle between September 10-23. In exchange for your used seat, you'll receive a 20% off coupon for a new seat.
The statistics haven't changed -- Americans are still purchasing about 12 million car seats every year and most of them are ending up in the landfill. The reason? As the seats get safer and safer, they become more and more difficult to take apart. This in turn makes it more expensive (from a labor and time perspective) to run effective car seat recycling programs. Take advantage of this limited time program!
When to get rid of a car seat:
1. If the expiration date has passed
2. If your child exceeds the height/weight limitations of the seat
3. If the seat was in a vehicle involved in an accident
